Man hits patrol car, arrested for murder

SPOKANE, Wash. — What began as a man hitting a Spokane Valley deputy’s patrol car early Saturday morning ultimately led to a murder investigation in the Finch Arboretum neighborhood.

Court documents say 59-year old William Bost hit a deputy’s vehicle, which was parked at the intersection of Dishman and Appleway. The deputy said Bost was wearing only his underwear and told the deputy, “She’s dead… the dog didn’t mean to do it.”

Upon further conversation, Bost allegedly said, “my wife is dead.”

Deputies were called to the Bost’s home on South Buena Vista Drive, near Finch Arboretum, to check on the welfare of Jade Bost.

According to court documents, deputies entered the home and found Jade Bost dead on the kitchen floor. The court documents show the deputies found the victim “lying in a large amount of blood, with a butcher knife on her back and another large knife on the floor next to her.”

Investigators found at least 5 stab wounds on Jade Bost’s back.

The two knives were collected as evidence and according to court documents one of them was slightly bent.

During the investigation of the house, court documents show detectives found blood in multiple rooms of the home.

William Bost had bruising and small cuts on his hands and was treated at Deaconess, where DNA samples were collected by a forensic expert.

He was booked into the Spokane County Jail on second degree murder charges. Monday in court he answered “yes” when asked if he understood the charges against him. His bond was set at $250,000.

Bost has a criminal history that includes felony convictions for robbery and attempting to elude police. Investigators found eight guns and a “large quantity of ammunition” in a bedroom closet.
