Man dies after taking curve too quickly

NEWMAN LAKE, Wash. — An adult male driver was found bleeding and unconscious and later passed away in a one vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on N. Muzzy Road.
Spokane deputies responded to a report of the crash around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and found the driver bleeding and unconscious.
Newman Lake Fire personnel began life-saving efforts and requested a Life Flight Helicopter for transport due to the seriousness of the injuries.
After attempting CPR for over half an hour, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
With information gained at the scene, investigators believe the mid-90s Ford Explorer was traveling south on Muzzy Road. It was traveling too fast as it approached a sharp curve, and the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slide off the road and into a large tree.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and investigators believe speed was a factor in the fatal crash. It is not yet known if impairment or additional factors were involved.
The name of the driver has not yet been released. There were no known witnesses to this incident. If you have any information, you are asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
