Man detained for carrying replica gun near North Central High School, police say

SPOKANE, Wash. — A North Central High School school resource officer contacted police Tuesday morning when he learned of a potentially armed man nearby.
Spokane Police stopped the man on Indiana Ave between Normandie and Callispel. Officers located what is either a paintball gun or replica-type pistol on the subject.
North Central High School went into a modified lockdown temporarily as police contacted the suspect, but the lockdown was lifted shortly before 8:30 a.m.
Police confirmed they have detained a person. That man, who is not a student, had active warrants out for his arrest.
