Man badly hurt trying to jump on moving train
A fire official says a man who tried to jump aboard a moving train in Spokane Valley, Wash., slipped and fell under the box car. The train hit his legs, nearly severing them.
Assistant Fire Marshal Bill Clifford says a passing woman hear the man’s screams Monday and called 911.
Clifford tells the Spokesman Review that woman “really did save his life.”
The fire official says the 30-year-old man was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. It was unclear whether medical personnel were going to be able to reattach his legs.
Clifford says it was one of the worst injuries he’s seen.
