Man, 35, pleads guilty in Richland stabbing death
RICHLAND, Wash. — A Richland man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death because he was jealous she was seeing another man pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder.
Benton County prosecutors say they’ll seek an exceptional sentence against Lawrence Miller because Rebecca Vandeventer was stabbed dozens of times within sight or sound of her three young children.
The Tri-City Herald reports the 35-year-old man could get more than 35 years in prison when he is sentenced.
Miller and Vandeventer still shared an apartment in Richland even though they had separated. He turned himself into police after the stabbing in September of last year.
