Louisville High School On Lockdown After Report Of Person With Gun
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Police in Louisville, Kentucky, have placed a high school under lockdown after a student reported that she thought she saw a young man with a gun in the school cafeteria.
Officers have been searching room to room for the weapon. They’ve also been interviewing potential witnesses among the 1,200-plus students at Fern Creek Traditional High School. As of midmorning, police said they had not found a gun.
Police helicopters have been hovering over the school. And video from the scene shows an officer with a dog searching cars in the school parking lot.
Dozens of parents have also gathered outside the school. Some say they received text messages from their children saying they were locked in their classrooms with the lights out.
