Local Resorts Cutting Prices To Reel In Guests
SPOKANE — The tanking economy is forcing many to cut back or give up on the family vacation, but there are deals to be had in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene that makes getting away from the cold more affordable.
A recent study found that 58 percent of people who normally take an annual vacation away from home will shrink their vacation spending this year, or just not go.
Hotels and resorts in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene are feeling the economic pinch, so they’re offering discounted prices or gift incentives to get people out of their homes and spending money.
The Coeur d’Alene resort is offering a $100 dining credit if you spend a night there. The dining credit can be used for dinner and breakfast at resort restaurants or room service.
The resort also offers a $310 package, which features an overnight stay with two 50 minute spa services of your choice.
Starting at $210, Schweitzer or Silver Mountain ski resorts offer overnight accommodations and two adult ski passes
Silver mountain is usually the place to go for a winter getaway, but the resort has combined the best of both winter and summer worlds with a heated indoor water park.
The water park is kept at 80 degrees, which is a nice break from the freezing temperatures outside.
Schweitzer Mountain Resort is also offering a ‘stay two nights and get the third night free’ deal, but the availability is limited.
Spring break is also coming up and if you’re looking for an inexpensive, but luxurious getaway the Davenport Hotel and Tower in Spokane is offering a special spring break vacation package that is just $199. The package includes unlimited swimming, a movie, a scavenger hunt with prizes and free parking.
