Local 20/20 report: Woman’s search for biological mom leads to shocking discovery

A more than 30-year-old mystery that left Coeur d’Alene Police stumped, and attracted the world’s attention three years ago, is in the spotlight again.

On April 30, 1987, a woman gave birth to a happy, healthy baby girl at Kootenai Health.

Less than 12 hours later, the new mom vanished, leaving behind her baby. That baby is now 30 years old, and is named Andrea Klug-Napier. She lives in Colorado and works as a medical assistant.

In 2015, she posted her story on her Facebook page, in hopes of finding her biological mother.

What she found in her search, is so much more than a name.
