Halloween Can Be A Scary Time For People With Dementia. Here’s How To Help

SPOKANE, Wash. – It’s spooky season and there are plenty of ways to celebrate across the Inland Northwest. 

Whether you’re spending Halloween with your little ones or you plan to party kid-free, there’s something for everyone. 

Scarywood

It’s the last weekend to get spooked at Scarywood! Enjoy unlimited rides, shows and haunted attractions Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 

Tickets must be purchased online before you go; they will not be sold at the door. 

Haunted Walking Tour 

Learn about the spooky histories behind some of Spokane’s most prestigious landmarks during the haunted walking tour.

Spo-Candy Crawl

On Saturday and Sunday, locate each spooky scene and decipher a riddle to earn a treat bag full of goodies from the Numerica Skate Ribbon.

Visit a haunted house

There are plenty of haunted houses across the region, including the King Family Halloween Display and the Hillbilly Haunted House.

A variety of Trunk or Treat events are happening throughout the weekend. Here are a few: 

  • Opportunity Presbyterian Church – 202 N. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley – Saturday 6 to 8 p.m. 
  • Common Sense Auto Sales – 1427 N Division St, Spokane – Sunday 5 to 8 p.m. 
  • Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene – 15515 E 20th Ave, Spokane Valley – Saturday 5 to 6:30 p.m. 
  • Valley Real Life – 1831 S Barker Rd, Spokane Valley – Sunday 3 to 5 p.m. 
  • American Indian Community Center – 1025 W Indiana Ave, Spokane – Friday 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. 
  • SCC Adult Basic Education, 2310 N. Monroe St, Spokane – Saturday 5 to 9 p.m. 
  • St. John’s Lutheran Church – 5810 S Meadowlane Rd, Spokane  – Sunday 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. 

Halloween Bar Crawl

Crawl from bar to bar in downtown Spokane! There will be drink deals, food specials and a $1,000 grand prize costume contest.
