Lewiston Macy’s one of 30 stores to close this year
LEWISTON, Idaho — Lewiston residents will soon have one less department store to shop at.
Macy’s announced it’s closing 30 stores this year, one of which happens to be at the Lewiston Center Mall.
The department store chain announced it would close 100 stores back in 2016, amid declining sales over six consecutive years, Business Insider said.
According to Business Insider, all non-seasonal employees who are laid off and unable to find a job at another nearby Macy’s will be offered severance.
The company didn’t give an exact closing date, but said it would update investors on February 5.
