Lake Pend Oreille boat accident leaves two injured

A boat ran aground in Lake Pend Oreille

ATHOL, Idaho — A boat ran aground in Lake Pend Oreille on Friday afternoon, resulting two people being transported to the hospital.

Timberlake Fire Protection District said on its Facebook page that, at 12:31pm, they were dispatched to a boat accident Buttonhook Bay area on Lake Pend Oreille. They said three people were on the boat that ran aground.

All of the people on the boat were transported to Farragut by a fisherman who was in the area. Two of the people were transported to Kootenai Health in stable condition.

The accident is under investigation by Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
