Kennewick paying $45,000 to settle records lawsuit

The city of Kennewick has agreed to pay $45,000 to settle a lawsuit with a Tacoma motorcycle rider and motorcycle club that accused the city of violating the state Public Records Act.

Edward Goehring and Washington Confederation of Clubs accused the city of improperly withholding documents, photos and videos of motorcyclists who were stopped for traffic infractions and ticketed.

The Tri-City Herald reports the city admits no wrongdoing. The parties have agreed to have a third party review the records and decide what to release.
