Julio Rodriguez dominates the night, but falls in finals of Home Run Derby

LOS ANGELES — 21 year old star Julio Rodriguez introduced himself to a national audience Monday night making the finals of the Home Run Derby where he lost to Juan Soto of Washington.

Julio finally looked tired in the final round and put up 18 homers in the shortened round, and Soto got hot, beating Julio in bonus time.

Rodriguez dominated the first two rounds of the Home Run Derby taking down Corey Seager and two-time defending champion Pete Alonso.

Julio hit 32 home runs in round one, 31 in round two, there had only been four rounds with 30+ home runs in the history of the event.  Julio ended with 81 homers in three rounds.
