Iranian President Says No War With US, Israel
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Iran’s president says he sees no possibility of a future war between his country and the U.S. or Israel.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spoke during a trip to Malaysia for a summit of developing Muslim nations.
The comments come less than 24 hours after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced a military exercise involving “missile squads.” The Guards also warned that Iran will retaliate against any military strike by targeting Tel Aviv and U.S. warships in the Gulf.
Iran’s leader also predicted that Israel will eventually be “destroyed” without Iranian action.
Iranian officials have been recently mixing conciliatory and hostile statements about the possibility of a clash with the U.S. and Israel.
