Inmate found dead in cell at Idaho Department of Correction
BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Department of Correction is investigating the apparent suicide of an inmate at the Idaho State Correctional Institution Sunday afternoon.
Staff at the facility found 33-year-old David Gabriel Curiel unconscious in his cell at 1:13 p.m.
They initiated life-saving measures and called 911. Paramedics transported Curiel to a hospital in Boise. Curiel was declared dead early morning Monday.
ISCI is a 1,446 bed medium security prison for men south of Boise.
