Indians Squeak By With One Run
SPOKANE — When you only score one run in a baseball game, you don’t usually win, but that wasn’t case Sunday night for the Spokane Indians.
The Tribe got the only run in the 13th inning, as Joey Butler got a single to right, to score David Paisano, and not only gave the Indians the extra inning win, but also sole possession of first place in the East. The man who got that game winning hit says any hit that gives you first is one to remember.
“Yes, it means a lot, you know. First place means a lot, you know,” Butler said. “Second place only means you’re the first loser so, I mean, it feels good right now to put my team in first place.”
The Indians have a one game lead in the East. Now they hit the road for a three game series in Yakima.
