Idaho woman in custody after husband shot in arm

A southwest Idaho woman police say shot her husband in the arm is facing a charge of aggravated battery.

Police in Mountain Home say 26-year-old Cassandra Alvarez of Mountain Home was taken into custody Monday and her husband was taken to a Boise hospital.

Police say the man called 911 early Monday and told dispatchers his wife just shot him.

Police say Alvarez told them the shooting was in self-defense, and that she had been attacked and choked.

But police say there were no marks on her neck to indicate she had been choked.

The Mountain Home Police Department says Cassandra Alvarez had a blood alcohol content of between 0.24 and 0.26.

She’s scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
