Icy roads Wednesday night, rain and snow for Thursday – Kris

What we’re tracking

We are tracking areas of dense fog and freezing fog Wednesday evening, in addition to a slow-moving system bringing rain and snow to the Inland Northwest throughout the day on Thursday.

4 Things To Know

Plan your Thursday

It’s going to be a wet day on Thursday, but you won’t need your snow shovel. There’s a chance of a little light snow mixing in with the rain when the precipitation first starts falling early Thursday morning, but it will quickly turn over to rain by mid-morning.  Temperatures will start out just below freezing.  If you are an especially early riser, watch for slick spots on the roadways where wet roads have turned icy. Warm air moving in with the rain will send our temperature up into the lower 40s by late afternoon. It doesn’t look like we will get any breaks in the rain until late Thursday evening.

Thursday Planner

Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast

The steady precipitation will taper off overnight Thursday into Friday.  However, there is still a chance of showers off and on through the day on Friday and right on into the weekend.  Expect most of the wet weather to stay in the form of valley rain, as highs will continue to climb into the 40s through the holiday weekend, and overnight lows will stay above freezing.
