I-90 Reopens Near Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — A semi rollover near Moses Lake forced the westbound closure of I-90. Originally it was thought the accident could be cleared up by early Wednesday morning, however the road remained closed until about 1:20 p.m.

The accident occurred at about 1:15 Wednesday morning near milepost 188, 12 miles east of Moses Lake. A 40-year-old out-of-state truck driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel and the semi tipped over in the ensuing crash while he was carrying a freight load westbound on I-90.

He was treated at Samaritan Hospital for minor hip and neck injuries and released. A passenger in the truck was treated for similar injuries and has also been released.

The driver has been cited for 2nd degree negligent driving.

Detours were set up in the area, but traffic moved slowly through the area during the 12-hour closure.
