Hwy. 2 closed in both directions at Gold Bar west of Stevens Pass due to downed trees

STEVENS PASS, Wash. — Hwy. 2 was closed Friday in both directions at Gold Bar west of Stevens Pass due to trees down along the road, freezing rain and icy conditions.
The Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) confirmed the closure in the Cascade Mountain Range around 8:00 a.m., with no estimated time of reopening.
WSDOT reported high winds were slowing the removal process.
Snoqualmie Pass was open as of 10 a.m. Friday, with chain requirements on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive (4WD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD). WSDOT reported heavy snow over Snoqualmie just before lunchtime.
