Hurricane Dolly Bears Down On Texas-Mexico Coast
BROWNSVILLE, Texas — Hurricane Dolly is almost a Category-2 storm now, as it gets ready to make landfall along the Gulf coasts of Texas and Mexico.
Dolly has sustained winds of 95 miles-per-hour. Category-2 storms pack winds in excess of 96 miles-per-hour.
National Weather Service radar has already indicated one tornado this morning, and a tornado watch is in effect until 10 a.m. Central time.
Dolly is expected to dump up to 15 inches of rain, which could cause enough flooding to breach levees in the heavily populated Rio Grande valley.
