Human remains found on Tubbs Hill could be up to 1,000 years old

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — On March 28, the Coeur d’Alene Police Department responded to Tubbs Hill in reference to a report of a large bone located near the walking trail. More details can be found here.

Patrol Officers were directed to the area where the bone had been located and secured the scene.

Police detectives were also notified and responded to the scene for further investigation.

On scene, detectives located further remains, all of which appeared to be from one human. After further analysis by experts, it was determined the remains are “historical” and are at least 200 years old and possibly over 1,000 years old.

Taking into consideration the considerable passage of time, there is no information about the identity of the remains or cause of death.
