Following a recent spike in sightings, the Steven’s County Sheriff’s Office has asked that individuals report any encounters with predatory wildlife.

State law requires the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) to post all reported incidents involving cougars, wolves, and grizzly bears on its website.

An incident could include the killing of pets or livestock, or any circumstance in which a wild animal is acting aggresively.

By reporting online, members of Setevens County can ensure that both the Sheriff’s Office and WDFW remain accountable when maintaining a safe community.

For wolf or cougar sightings, please call 877-933-9847.
