Two men were taken into custody Friday afternoon after leading Grant County deputies and Soap Lake officers on a 38-mile pursuit in a stolen vehicle.

The driver, 23-year-old Triston Duplichan, and passenger, 29-year-old Noe Duarte, were booked into the Grant County Jail on their outstanding warrants and several additional charges.

The pursuit began in Soap Lake around 1:15 p.m. after an officer initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle for having license plates attached that did not belong. Law enforcement officers pursued the vehicle up State Route 17 to Coulee City and down Pinto Ridge Road to State Route 28 before officers used a PIT stop to disable the vehicle. At times, speeds reached 114 mph on the highway.

Officers later confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of the Puyallup area.
