Police: Spokane man stabbed, killed girlfriend’s ex-husband

SPOKANE, Wash. – A 25-year-old man was stabbed and killed by his ex-wife’s new boyfriend on Thursday morning, according to Spokane Police.
The woman called police to report 19-year-old Edward A. Martinez had stabbed her ex-husband several times and ran away from the scene at a home near N. Nevada St and E. Princeton Ave.
The stabbing happened around 5:50 a.m, but Martinez was not taken into custody until 7:30 a.m.
Police used a K9 to track him, but he was ultimately arrested 10 blocks away from the scene thanks to a citizen tip.
The stabbing victim was treated by medics, but died at the hospital. The woman was not injured.
Martinez was booked into jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
