Kalispel tribal police fire shots at theft suspect near Northern Quest; suspect taken into custody

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — A theft suspect was shot at by police and taken into custody near Northern Quest Resort and Casino Monday afternoon.

Kalispel Tribal Police said a theft suspect tried to ram patrol cars and another nearby car, so an officer shot at him. Police would not confirm if the man was actually struck by the bullet, but Julie Holland with Northern Quest said the suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries and two responding officers were not injured.

Police said the suspect declined medical treatment before being taken into custody.

KTP will work with other law enforcement agencies on the investigation.
