Heat causes South Hill Target thermometer to malfunction, empties frozen food shelves

SPOKANE, Wash. — Frozen and refrigerated foods at one Spokane store are just another casualty of the historic Inland Northwest heatwave.
Shoppers at the Target store on the south hill noticed entire shelves were empty in both the frozen and refrigerated sections.
Target tells 4 News Now the heat knocked out a temperature sensor on the roof. They’ve removed food from these sections for safety reasons.
A spokesperson tells us they’re not sure when those areas will be restocked.
