SPOKANE, Wash – The city doesn’t look a day over 141!

November 29th marks 141 years since when Spokane officially incorporated.

At the time, it was called Spokane Falls and was home to 350 people.

According to the City of Spokane, the ‘e’ was added in 1883 and the “Falls” was dropped in 1891.

As of the 2020 Census, 228,989 people live within the city limits of Spokane.

Spokane’s first residents were Native American and the word Spokane means “Children of the Sun.”

It’s the second-largest city in Washington by population.
