Grow with Google initiative

SEATTLE, Wash. — If you’re a small business owner, or just someone looking to improve your digital skills, then you might want to free up your schedule on Wednesday, January 22.

Google announced earlier this week it’s coming to Spokane as part of its ‘Grow with Google’ initiative.

The day will consist of free hands-on educational exercises taught by Google staff, aimed at helping Spokane community members grow their business or find the perfect job for them.

You can pre-register for workshops or sign up for one-on-one training sessions with Google staff, who will teach you everything from setting up an email account, to how to build a successful resume.

“Small businesses are the backbone of the Spokane economy, ” said Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers. “Google is providing critical online services that make it easier for small businesses to compete, grow, and succeed.”

The event is part of a grant opportunity for Washington public libraries, which have partnered with the initiative to educate communities across the country about digital programming, Google said in a release.

‘Grow with Google’ will take place from 10:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. at the Spokane Public Library.
