Greg Papst Dies At VA Hospital
SPOKANE – A Spokane man battling terminal cancer who fought to live long enough to spend one more Christmas with his family has died.
Greg Papst had been battling terminal stomach cancer since last August. He was profiled in December when he was selling donated Christmas trees to help pay for his medical bills.
Greg died this last weekend at VA Hospital surrounded by friends and family.
Back in December, Greg’s friends didn’t think he’d live long enough to spend Christmas with his family, but Greg just prayed for one more Christmas miracle.
“This church and hundreds of churches around town are full of miracles. I just want one more. I just want one more,” he said.
Greg did survive to spend Christmas with his family.
He leaves behind his wife Kari and three daughters.
