Green Bluff’s local peach orchard sees a large traffic over Labor Day weekend
GREEN BLUFF, Wash.– As millions of people travel during this labor day weekend, some people are coming to Spokane for the peach season.
Green Bluff’s U-Pick peaches event has returned this year. However, the season kicked off late compared to the last year’s.
“We had a very long drawn-out cold wet spring. What that did is extend our bloom cycle three or four days to about two weeks, which made our crops about two weeks late out in the field,” said Todd Beck, Owner of Beck’s Harvest House.
Despite the late peach season this year due to a wet spring, many visitors from in and out of state came to Green Bluff over Labor Day weekend.
“I start to enjoy this beautiful place. It’s amazing,” said Nilson Desousa, who is visiting Green Bluff from Brazil.
Beck says he sees a lot of people come to visit from out of state.
“We are always on the top of their list,” Beck said. “It’s really great honor because we have a lot of people that are regular customers and anytime they have friends come in from somewhere else.”
The owner says there are still many peaches left for you to pick peaches this weekend.
