Grace period for distracted driving law ends

The grace period for Washington’s Distracted Driving law ended Monday.
WSP officers will now start ticketing drivers caught texting, talking, or holding their phones in their vehicles.
The first ticket is $136. A second ticket goes up to $324.
According to WSP, since the law took effect in July, troopers have pulled over more than 5,000 distracted drivers.
