Get ready for some Saturday snow – Matt
What we’re tracking
Snow is on the way back to the Inland Northwest this weekend. Snow is expected to start falling in the Cascades in the late morning and spread across Eastern Washington and North Idaho during the afternoon and evening.
Snow accumulations will be light in the valleys and lowlands. Isolated areas in North Idaho will see 1 to 2 inches while most of the region sees a dusting up to one inch.
Mountain pass travel will be difficult at times on Saturday. A this fast-moving system arrives at each pass, a short burst of heavy snow will create hazardous driving conditions quickly.
Plan your Saturday
Snow will arrive quickly and pass within a few hours around Spokane and Coeur d’Alene. Roads will slicken up quickly even with only a few tenths of an inch of snow. Temperatures in the 20s in the evening will keep any rain or wintry mix out of the forecast tonight.
Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast
Yes, we have a good chance for some sunshine on Sunday afternoon, even in those usually cloudy areas. Enjoy it while it’s here. The rest of the week looks dry, dreary, and foggy.
