Gonzaga’s Woolridge named WCC Player of the Week
Spokane, Wash. Gonzaga guard Ryan Woolridge was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week Tuesday.
The senior from Texas scored a season high 21 points in a win over Detroit Mercy Monday night. He made seven of nine shots from the field including 4-5 from three-point range.
Woolridge also had eight assists, six rebound and two steals against Detroit Mercy. He leads the WCC in three-point field goal percentage, at 54.5 percent. He ranks fourth in the league for assists, averaging 4.7 per game and he’s sixth in the league when it comes to assist-to-turnover ratio.
The 14-1 Zags open WCC play Thursday at Portland, then host Pepperdine in the McCarthey Center Saturday.
