Gonzaga women’s basketball upsets No. 6 Louisville, falls to Marquette in Battle for Atlantis

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga women’s basketball team advanced to 4-1 on the season after upsetting No. 6 ranked Louisville before falling to the Marquette Golden Eagles in the Battle for Atlantis.
In the 79-67 win against the Cardinals, Brynna Maxwell led the team in points with 21, and Yvonne Ejim pulled down nine rebounds. Kayleigh Truong and McKayla Williams each dished out five assists in the outing.
The Zags took over in overtime, outscoring Louisville 18-6.
On Sunday, the Zags lots to Marquette, 70-66.
Kaylyn Truong scored 18, and Yvonne Ejim nearly had a double-double with 11 rebounds and nine points.
The Bulldogs will now play the No. 11 ranked Tennessee Volunteers on Monday at 11:30 a.m. for third place in the tournament.
