Gonzaga women’s basketball coach Lisa Fortier up for Naismith Coach of the Year award

SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga women’s basketball head coach Lisa Fortier is up for this year’s Naismith Coach of the Year award.
Fortier is one of 15 coaches in the nation to be nominated this year and was previously nominated during the 2018-2019 season.
Fortier has guided the Bulldogs to a 25-2 overall record, the 18th 20-win season in program history, as well as the highest ranking in program history. The team is currently ranked No. 13, but were as high as No. 11 earlier this season.
The Bulldogs just earned their share of their 16th West Coast Conference regular-season title and are poised to play in the NCAA tournament.
A list of 10 semi-finalists for the award will be revealed on March 4. The list will be narrowed down on March 19 before the winner is announced on April 4.
