Gonzaga rides strong second half to win over Portland

PORTLAND, Oreg. — The number one ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs responded in the second half to come back and beat Portland on the road 85-72 Thursday night to open WCC play.
The first half didn’t go as planned as the Pilots were hitting tough shots everywhere on the way to a seven point halftime lead.
After the break Gonzaga turned up the defense and it led to a number of fast break buckets and open looks from behind the arc.
All five starters finished with double-digit scoring led by Killian Tillie with 22 points.
With the win, Gonzaga improves to 15-1 on the season, and 1-0 in West Coast Conference play.
Next up is a home game against Pepperdine Saturday night at 7pm.
