Friday Night Sports Extra: West Valley plays Shadle Park, Ferris faces Ridgeline
The high school basketball season is getting going, and teams are looking to ball out this season.
We start in boy’s basketball with a matchup between West Valley and Shadle Park. Coming out with heat on their feet, West Valley was as equally on fire on the court. Grady Walker scored a game-high 21 points as the Eagles move to 13-1 on the year, remaining undefeated in league play.
FINAL SCORE: West Valley 68 Shadle Park 48
In other action, Ridgeline made a visit to Ferris. The Saxons would find some scoring from Dylan Skaife, with a response from Dakota Means of the Falcons. But in the end, Ferris would be too much for Ridgeline, running away with the game. Skaife finished the night with 18 points.
FINAL SCORE: Ferris 62 Ridgeline 46
In girl’s basketball, West Valley also hosted Shadle Park. West Valley led after a quarter of play, but Shadle Park responded big, eventually coming away with the victory. Chloe DeHaro turned up big for West Valley, scoring a game-high 30 points. But Tameira Thompson and Shadle Park were too much to handle.
Shadle Park is one game behind Clarkston for first place in the GSL 2-A standings.
FINAL SCORE: Shadle Park 58 West Valley 42
