Forum On Faith Puts Obama-McCain Back In Spotlight

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (AP) — Tonight’s the night Barack Obama and John McCain talk religion and politics at Rick Warren’s Southern California megachurch.

They’ve agreed to appear on the same stage for a handshake, but they’ll be questioned by Warren separately. Obama has the first hour, McCain the second.

It’s expected Obama will discuss his Christian faith and put down the untrue but persistent rumors that he’s a Muslim.

McCain may try to convince some skeptical evangelicals that they and he are on the same page.

Warren is nationally known for his sermons and best-selling book “The Purpose-Driven Life.”
