A Kellogg woman was sentenced on Wednesday for misusing public money.

Kelli Jane Garcia, 48, pleaded guilty to misusing a county credit card during her time as a Shoshone County coroner.

As a result, Garcia was sentenced to one year of probation with 100 hours of community service. She will also pay a $500 fine and court costs.

According to court records, Garcia had used a county credit card for personal spending while attending out-of-town work conferences in 2017.

She has since reimbursed the county for those charges.
