A former Mead School District teacher pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with a student in court Monday.

Wesley Perez, 37, was arrested last May and charged with sexual misconduct with a minor and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. On Monday, the state dismissed the latter charge.

According to previous court records, an anonymous letter tipped off the Mead High School principal about a relationship between Perez and a student who was not in his class. According to that letter, Perez and the student had become “flirtatious” and that it escalated to kissing, then a sexual relationship.
