Fog for the first Monday of the year – Matt
What we’re tracking
Areas of freezing fog will lead to low visibility and some light ice around the Inland Northwest on Monday. Fog will be a part of the pattern until Thursday of this week as conditions remain mostly calm.
The next storm system arrives late Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Precipitation will start as snow but turn to a mix or rain at the tail end of the storm on Thursday afternoon. Snow accumulations are expected to be minor at this time.
Plan your Monday
If the dreary weather is bringing you down, Monday afternoon should be a treat. The fog will lift and skies will clear up briefly before we go right back under the clouds late Monday night. Temperatures will start off in the mid-20s and reach the mid-30s.
Spokane and Coeur d’Alene forecast
Some snow flurries are possible on Tuesday and temperatures will struggle to get above freezing on Tuesday and Wednesday. The aforementioned storm on Thursday will bring light snow and wintry mix around the metro. Friday looks drier before some spotty rain/snow showers next weekend.
