Five Detained In Lewiston Vandalism Spree
LEWISTON – Five people were arrested early Sunday morning after a vandalism spree that damaged numerous vehicles in Lewiston.
Lewiston police responded to reports of people in a white van damaging vehicles around 2:20 a.m. on the 700 block of 7th Street. They found the white van and detained the occupants, four juveniles and an adult. All were from Moscow.
After an investigation, it was determined that the five had been involved in slashing the tires of 16 vehicles, along with breaking a number of rearview mirrors and causing paint damage with a knife. Numerous rearview mirrors and two knives were recovered from the van.
The vehicles damaged were between the 500 and 1000 blocks of 7th Street and on the 700 block of 5th Avenue. Lewiston police are asking anyone whose vehicle may have been damaged in the vandalism spree to contact them at 746-0171.
