First Night 2017 to be bigger, better than ever

Downtown Spokane is getting ready to ring in the New Year with dancing, music, and all sorts of entertainment.

Organizers of First Night Spokane say this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.

The biggest change people will see this year: more entertainment will be inside, out of the cold!

First Night is a fun, family-oriented event that stretches from the Double Tree Inn to River Park Square.

Out on the streets, you’ll find bonfires so you can be out enjoying the night and stay warm.

Food trucks will be in Riverfront Park as well as an outdoor stage with musical acts.

Kids Night out fills the convention center with all sorts of activities and entertainment for the kids.

New this year: the 21 and older venue at the Davenport Grand.

Opening ceremonies are at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. There’s free parking and shuttle rides from the WSU green parking lot.

Admission buttons are $15 on Friday, but will jump up to $18 on Saturday.
