First coronavirus patient in Washington ‘fully recovered,’ health officials say
SNOHOMISH CO., Wash. — A Snohomish County man who was the first person in the country to be diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus has fully recovered, according to the Snohomish Health District.
Health officials said he is free to go about his regular activities.
The patient was held in isolation at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett after contracting the virus in Wuhan, China in January. He became ill four days after arriving in the United State and sought care. Based on his symptoms and travel history, doctors suspected he had COVID-19 and sent specimens to the CDC in Atlanta, where tests confirmed the virus.

According to KOMO-TV, the patient had been released to home isolation on February 3.
“We cannot thank him enough for his patience and cooperation throughout the entire process,” the Snohomish Health District posted on their website.
