Fire destroys mobile home, kills two dogs

SPOKANE, Wash. — On Monday at around 4 pm, firefighters responded to a mobile home fire in the 12000 block of Dover Road near Riverside State Park.

A neighbor ran inside before units got to the scene to save a cage full of birds. That neighbor, and the birds, got out okay and no other people were injured.

Once units arrived, the fire had spread to multiple out-buildings surrounding the home.
Crews knocked down the fire fairly quickly and prevented further spread.
Unfortunately, the home was completely destroyed and two dogs were killed.
An investigation into the cause it still underway.
