Fire Crews Extinguish Rathdrum Blaze

RATHDRUM — Firefighters have extinguished a mobile home fire that threatened to spread into neighboring trees in Rathdrum Tuesday afternoon.

The mobile home’s resident was outside and went inside and heard the smoke detectors starting to go off.

A large number of fire crews were sent to fight the fire due to the threat of the fire spreading to a nearby wildland area.

Home owner Myles Lea, 55, told firefighters he left a heating pad on in his bedroom, and that may have been a potential ignition source for the fire.

The mobile home was destroyed by the blaze. No one was injured in the fire or firefighting efforts.
