Whitehall Fire burns 150 acres in Douglas County
DOUGLAS CO., Wash. — Firefighters have the Whitehall Fire burning near Whitehall Rd. under control.
The large fire was first reported off Whitehall Rd. just northwest of Ephrata Thursday night. In a Facebook post, Grant County Fire District 13 said the fire, along with multiple lightning strikes, could be seen from Ephrata and Quincy. Blowing dust caused it to spread quickly.
As of early Friday morning, firefighters had the fire contained to 150 acres, or less than half a square mile. Grant County Fire District 13 units were cleared, and firefighting efforts have been turned over to the Coulee City Fire Department.
No evacuation have been put in place.
