Father and homeless son reunited after incredible search
TACOMA, Wash. — Steve Ellis flew to the west coast this week to search for his 45-year-old son Jason who Steve believed to be living in Tacoma.
Jason is a former Marine. His father says he moved to Tacoma to work construction, but a work injury and PTSD put him on the street, according to KOMO News.
“It’s been three years now since I talked to him,” Steve Ellis said. “So I decided to come back out here again and see if I could find him.”
Ellis wandered from shelter to shelter searching for his son.
“I’m just trying to find him, take him home and take care of him,” Ellis said.
Steve posted flyers with his phone number around town and at the stability site where his son had been staying. People at that site told Jason that his father was looking for him and passed along his dad’s number.
Jason called him and they scheduled a time to meet at the site.
And on Saturday afternoon, something wonderful happened.
According to a post on the Facebook page “Homeless Humans of Tacoma”, Steve and Jason were reunited.
