Fatal crash slows traffic on I-90 near Huetter, westbound lane reopened after ISP investigation

ISP Troopers are parked along the shoulder of westbound I-90 to investigate a crash.

HUETTER, Idaho — Idaho State Police (ISP)have identified the man who was fatally hit by a semi truck near the Huetter rest area.

The man was identified as 38-year-old Joshua Brown of Rathdrum.

Idaho State Police said he died Monday when he stepped in front of a semi-truck on I-90 near the rest area.

Troopers said Brown pulled his truck over on the side of the road. He tried to walk across the westbound lanes and that is when he was hit by the semi. Troopers did not know why he was on the roadway.

A trooper told 4 News Now the semi driver did everything he could to avoid hitting the man, but unfortunately it was not enough.

The westbound lane of I-90 and the westbound on-ramp at Ramsey Road were closed temporarily, but have since reopened.
